Cleve and Nancy Bell met with the owner of the Yellow Store recently and the news is encouraging. The new owner has informed us that the Yellow Store's new name will be (drumbeat please) Jimmy C's Bar and Grill. Progress is steady and we were informed that the restaurant is almost physically ready to be opened. Unfortunately, there are some code issues that must be resolved with the City of New Orleans that may cause significant delays before any grand opening can occur. In the interim, the new owner wants to tailor the store, bar and restaurant to the needs and desires of our community. He is seeking input from residents of our area as to the type of cuisine to serve as well as any suggestions as to other types of services needed in our community. He currently has plans to offer fuel and also seeks community input on where to place the pumps. Out front for vehicles, or on the water in the back. There are already plans in place to add small boat docks on the back side of the business for visitors, as well as a private room for events. To comment with any suggestions for the new owner join the new VICIA Facebook Group to post in the comments and we will convey the information to him. This is all great news for Venetian Isles and our neighboring communities! Can't wait to hear from you.
